Last week I was leaving my building for lunch and I found this little gem.
I work in a high-rise in downtown Indy and the building has a loading dock for deliveries. I will sometimes cut through the loading dock to save time. The loading dock is also home to the buildings dumpsters.
Anyway, there was a coffee shop in my building that closed up shop. The owner left behind some furniture and the building maintenance guy was going to destroy it and trash it.
I later learned all of this information (I should really be a private detective. I have mad investigative skills). I asked the maintenance guy if I could have it and he was like "sure, it will save me the time breaking it down." So I brought my mini van around and me and two other guys loaded it.
I had the most perfect spot in mind and it fit perfectly. I had to clean it up and line the shelves. I need to add cabinet doors but I have no idea how to do this so that will come later (if ever).
I bought 2 inexpensive bar stools at Walmart and Voila we have a bar with tons of storage. My kitchen is tiny and their is ZERO storage so this worked out so good. My husband was skeptical at first but I think that he is ok with it now. He does not like change and this was a big change (ok not really but he really has a hard time with change, I on the other hand thrive on change)
I am not a creative person but I think that I did ok. I follow some blogs of super crafty people and I bet there mouths are watering over this find. If you have any ideas for the cabinet doors or the bar in general, please let me know. Thanks!!
Oh and always keep your eyes open and don't be afraid to ask questions. One man's trash is Erin's (insert your name) treasure!
